Midwife Endorsement and Qualifications

What is the difference between a regular midwife and an endorsed midwife?

An endorsed midwife is a registered midwife who has been endorsed by the NMBA (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia). This endorsement indicates that the midwife has additional qualifications and specific expertise. The endorsement allows midwives to prescribe scheduled medicines. To receive endorsement, midwives must meet the following requirements:

Hold 3 years of full-time postgraduate experience.
